| THROWBACK THURSDAY | Some Of My Favorite 90s Songs!

I'm so sorry this post is a few days late! I was having a problem with my computer with saving & editing. I apologize, but here it is. THROWBACK THURSDAY!

Everybody loves the 90's. Everywhere you look on the internet you're sure to see someone pay homage to the decade that brought us Britney Spears, Pokemon, and The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air.
But there's more to the 90's than what most people talk about. Sure, N*sync and Full House are great, I love them both, but the 90's gave us so much more.
I'm hoping I can use many of my Throwback Thursday posts to share with you some 90's nostalgia that can often be forgotten.

To Start off my first Throwback Thursday, here's a list of some of my favorite songs from the 90's. (You won't see much pop here because I decided I would make a list of 90's pop songs in the future, since there's way too many good ones). Remember kids, the 90's was so much more than just 1999. I tried to pick songs from throughout the decade, from 1990-1999. Another reminder, this isn't my ultimate 90's music list. This is just a few songs I constantly listen to today from the 90's, I love music and if I put all my favorite 90's songs on one list it would be too long!

I will include the title, artist, and release date.
I'll tell you why I like the song, give you my favorite lyric, and a link to the video on YouTube.

10 Awesome Songs From The 90's:

1.  Torn- Natalie Imbruglia- 1997

Who doesn't just want to sing along to this song? It's catchy, makes you feel the feels, and if its not a classic I don't know what is. I find myself singing this song almost everyday, I loved it when I first heard it back when I was 5 and I still love it today!

Favorite Lyric: I'm cold and I am shamed, lying naked on the floor.

2. Livin La Vida Loca- Ricky Martin- 1999

This was the song everyone was dancing to at the end of the 90's. It's no wonder though, this song is super fun to dance along and sing along to. It was also featured in Shrek, so that's a thing.

Favorite Lyric: Once you've had a taste of her you'll never be the same.

3. Welcome To Paradise- Green Day- 1992

One of Green Day's oldest songs, one of my favorites. I could have easily put Good Riddance on here instead, but this one is less talked about. It's pretty much just classic Green Day. The song is a story and the lyrics are pretty interesting, so pay attention. You can listen to this song no matter what mood you might be in, you don't have to be sad or angry or happy, you can just be "meh" and still rock out to this song!

Favorite Lyric: I want to take you through a wasteland I like to call my home.

4. All Star- Smash Mouth- 1999

This was my favorite song when I was a kid, no joke! I loved it so much and every time I listen to it now it brings back so many memories. It's another song that's an easy listen and a great choice to blast in your car on your way to work, (you should probably do that).

Favorite Lyric: You'll never know if you don't go.

5. 3 A.M.- Matchbox 20- 1996

Matchbox 20 has got to be one of the most underrated bands. Rob Thomas' voice is awesome and they've had so many great songs! This one is actually one of my all time favorites by them, it's a fun song to sing along to, but the lyrics also have meaning, which is something I love.

Favorite Lyric: Well, I can't help but be scared of it all sometimes.

6. Dammit- Blink 182- 1997

Another great band from the 90's, Blink 182. They had so many hits, but this one's probably my favorite. It was, after all, the first song I learned to play on Guitar Hero! But I do love to sing along to this whenever and wherever it's playing!

Favorite Lyric: The charade it won't last, when he's gone I won't come back.
*Bonus, Favorite Lyric: But everybody's gone and I've been here for too long, to face this on my own, well I guess this is growing up.

7. Baby Got Back- Sir Mix-a-Lot- 1992

Could an "Awesome Songs of the 90's" list ever be complete without this classic? Everyone knows this song, and it's a favorite among many. This is a 90's Dance Party requirement.

Favorite Lyric: Oh, baby I want to get wit'cha and take your picture.

Listen to it here:

8. Never Let You Go- Third Eye Blind- 1999

Catchy tune and lyrics that mean something from another awesome 90's band. This song will get stuck in your head, all day. That's fine, though, because it's a great song.

Favorite Lyric: But even if I changed, what's wrong with it?

Listen to it here:

9. Doctor Jones- Aqua- 1997

HAHA! Okay, I know I said no "pop" on this list but I couldn't resist putting this one up. And yes, this song is ridiculously cheesy, silly. and a tad annoying, but that's what Aqua was all about. Barbie Girl was a massive hit, but this is my favorite by them. I actually listen to this pretty often. Don't judge me.

Favorite Lyric: You swept my feet right off the ground, you're the love I've found.

Listen to it here:

10. No Scrubs- TLC- 1999

Another 90's classic. Everyone knows this one, and if you don't, who are you? The ultimate song for every woman whose ever had to deal with a super annoying guy.

Favorite Lyric: Hanging out the passenger side of his best friend's ride, tryin to holler at me.

This was really fun to do! If you enjoyed this post & playlist, let me know in the comments.
