| Monthly Favorites | February

I can't believe February is actually over, where does the time go?! Although February is a short month, it still feels like it ended way too fast! Since it's the end of the month, I'm going to share with you some of the things I've been loving. Enjoy!

You Are Amazing Hello Beautiful Skin Body Lotion

I'm not too sure about the rest of the world, but the weather in New York this past month has been crazy. We had a huge snowstorm and freezing cold days, and now it's been over 60 degrees out! With this crazy, changing weather comes all sorts of dry skin problems. I've been loving this lotion, which smells like grapefruit. I just put some on every night or whenever my skin is feeling dry.

Simple Smoothing Facial Scrub

I've been loving this facial scrub because it's gentle enough for everyday use and it's perfect for sensitive skin. When my skin gets really dry, it's gets even more sensitive, so this facial scrub has been a life-saver this month when it comes to my skin care routine.

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner

I received this eyeliner in my January Birchbox and I love it! I've been using it whenever I want to do a wing with my liner. It's amazing because it's super pigmented and precise, so I never make any mistakes when using it.

Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Trio in Plaid To The Bone

The colors in this trio are a little harder to use when i'm doing my everyday makeup because of how bold they are, but the top, (browbone), color has been one of my go-to shades for my lid. It's a perfect color for everyday makeup looks and it's super pigmented.

Wet n Wild Brush

I think this brush is meant to be used for eyeshadow but I've actually been using it for highlighter. It's the perfect size and shape for applying highlight to my nose and right above my lip.

NYX Lip Liner in Nude Beige

This lip liner is one of my favorites because it's the perfect shade for pretty much any lip color. It also goes on super smooth and even. I've been using it all month long, whenever I wear lipstick.

This past month I haven't used too many new products, but I have found a new hobby and rediscovered an old one!

Keeping A Journal

I'm trying to focus more on myself and my mental health and keeping a journal has been helping me. I love writing in general, and having a place to write all of my thoughts and feelings is very therapeutic. It's also great for tracking progress.

This past month I've been reading a lot more again. I love reading and being able to find the time to relax and do something I love has been amazing. I even had a enough time this month to finish an entire book in just a few days!

That's it for my monthly favorites this month! What have you been loving in February? Let me know in the comments!

| Top 10 Under $10 | Hair

One of my favorite things to do is try out new hairstyles. I love how you can change your entire look by just changing up your hairstyle! The only issue I have when it comes to doing different hairstyles, is the number of different products you need. There's hairspray, curling creams, and products to use to restore your hair after using so many products on it- it all adds up quickly!
Luckily, I've found some amazing products that don't cost a lot. In this post, I'm going to share with you 10 of my favorite hair products that are all $10 or under each. Enjoy!

Top 10 Under $10 | Hair:

1. TRESemme Keratin Smooth Keratin Infusing Smoothing Serum: $5.99

This smoothing serum is amazing! It's one of the only products I've used that actually straightens your hair the way it claims to. I love putting it on at night, right after a shower. When I wake up in the morning, my usually wavy hair is pin-straight. You can run some through your hair in the morning to quickly straighten any not-so-straight strands. It smells great too!

2. Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo: $5.99

This is one of my favorite dry shampoos ever. It smells amazing and always does the job right. I can spray this on three day old hair, and it looks refreshed and clean, like I just got out of the shower! The best part is, you get so much product for the price!

3. Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Leave-In Conditioning Cream: $3.42

I've been using this product for over 5 years now and it's one of my favorites. It can be used with wet or dry hair, and you can use it to curl or straighten you hair. When I want my hair less frizzy, I just put some on when my hair is wet and air dry, my hair looks smoother and straight. When I want some frizz-free waves in my hair, I put some of this on and braid my hair overnight. In the morning, my hair has a perfectly wavy look. This product is so versatile!

4. The Wet Brush: $8.29

If you have yet to try this brush out, you need to get yourself one now! This is hands-down the best brush I've ever used in my life. It's the most pain-free way to brush your hair. It never pulls at you hair like other brushes do and you can even use it on soaking wet hair- get it, wet brush? I currently own three of these brushes, i have one in my bedroom, one in my bathroom, and one in my bag.

5. Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray: $5.99

This is definitely the best sea salt spray for under $10 out there! It leaves your hair with that perfect "just left the beach" look! It also doesn't smell weird, like other sea salt sprays sometimes do and it also doesn't leave your hair sticky.

6. Garnier Fructis Curl Sculpt Conditioning Cream Gel: $4.49

This curling gel is amazing for overnight curls, it really holds the curls all day. I love putting some of this in my hair and then doing pin curls overnight. When I wake up in the morning, my hair is crazy curly! I love it!

7. OGX Moroccan Curling Perfection Defining Cream: $5.74

In case you haven't noticed yet, I have an obsession with trying to make my pretty much straight hair curly. This product was designed for people with naturally curly hair, it's supposed to define curls and make hair frizz-free. I love using this to make my own hair slightly curly. It also smells amazing!

This is my favorite hairspray. It smells really good and it never leaves my hair stiff or sticky. It also helps hair stay in place for hours! It's amazing!

9. TRESemme Healthy Volume Shampoo & Conditioner: $4.79 (each)

This shampoo and conditioner is literally perfect. They both smell amazing and you get an insane amount of product in each. They also leave hair with plenty of volume. This shampoo and conditioner are my go-to in between uses of my color safe ones.

You can find these hair ties pretty much anywhere and they're always affordable. They're great for when you want to tie your hair up real quick when doing your makeup or when you want to tie your hair up while sleeping since they don't leave any creases. They also come in so many fun colors!

Those are my Top 10 Under $10 hair products! What are your favorite affordable hair products? Let me know in the comments!

| My Morning Skincare Routine |

Taking care of your skin is one of the most important things to do. Having skin that's taken care of is such an amazing feeling. I remember when I was younger, I would pretty much sleep in my makeup and then wonder why my skin looked so bad without it. Now that I'm taking better care of my skin, it looks and feels so much better.
In this post, I'm going to share with you my morning skincare routine. I'm not gonna lie, I don't do this every morning, I'm not a morning person at all, but I try to do this routine at least 4 times a week. Enjoy!

My Morning Skincare Routine:

1. I always start by washing my face. You can use water, soap, or a cleanser. My favorite cleanser to use in the morning is the Clean & Clear Deep Action Cream Cleanser, it has a cool feeling to it that helps me wake up and feel refreshed. Washing your face in the morning is so important because it removes any oil or dirt from your skin.

2. Next, I exfoliate. Exfoliating is important because it removes any built-up oil, dirt, or skin from your face and it unclogs your pores. I love using the Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Scrub because it's mild enough for daily use and it has a refreshing citrus scent.

3. Last, I apply a light moisturizer. Moisturizing is important for everyone to do, even if you have oily skin, because it hydrates your skin and can even combat excess oil. My all time favorite moisturizer to use in the morning is the Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturizer. It doesn't feel oily or greasy and it smells amazing!

That's it, it's a pretty simple and easy routine for the morning. I'm so happy I'm starting to take better care of my skin, the results are incredible!

| February Birchbox |

There's something about having a subscription to a beauty box that's so exciting. I know it's coming every month, but I always get so surprised and excited when it comes!

If you don't know what Birchbox is, let me explain so you can jump on board. Birchbox is a monthly subscription box that features makeup, skincare, and beauty products. Each month you receive 5 samples that are curated to your preferences and needs. The best part is, it only costs $10!

If you're interested in subscribing to Birchbox, click this link:

Now let's check out what I got in this months box!

COOLA Mineral Face SPF 30 Unscented Matte Tint

This is a matte sunscreen, which I didn't even know such a thing existed, but it actually sounds pretty cool. I hate to admit it, but I'm the worst when it comes to sun protection, but I really need to start paying more attention to it. I can't wait to try this out!

Dr. Lipp Miracle Balm

This is a multi-tasker. It says it can be used on lips, skin, eyebrows, and cuticles, which is awesome! I love products that can be used in more than one way and I can't wait to use this!

English Laundry Notting Hill Femme

This is a perfume sample, and it smells amazing! I like the smell so much, I might actually purchase the full size!

Obliphica Professional Seaberry Mask

This is a hair mask, something I've never used before. It looks pretty cool and smells really good. Since I dye my hair, I can always use hair products that hydrate and nourish my hair. I can't wait to use this!

The Beauty Crop PBJ Smoothie Stick

It looks like this lip crayon may be a full size product, it's huge! It's a burnt orange color and smells amazing!

I also got a coupon for $10 off any purchase of $50 or more, which is pretty cool!

That's everything I got in my February Birchbox! This was actually an amazing box, I'm so excited to play around with all of these awesome products!

| Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick Review |

One of the best feelings in the world is when you accidentally stumble upon a makeup product and you end up absolutely loving it. I did just this the other day, and I had to share a little review with you guys!

While playing around with my makeup, trying to find a good look for Valentine's Day, I picked up the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Aria, which was actually a deluxe sample I got in my first Birchbox! I put this lipstick on and fell in love with it right away.
This isn't a new product or anything, in fact it's been on the market for a little while now, I just figured I'd let you know just how much I loved it and why.

This liquid lipstick goes on very smoothly and it has a doe foot applicator, which makes application even easier. The color is gorgeous and very pigmented and it dried to a matte finish. The lipstick was a little dry, but honestly, it didn't really bother me. This liquid lipstick is really amazing because it stays true to it's name, it really does last all day. It doesn't smudge, budge, or come off. In fact, when I went to take my makeup off at the end of the day, I had to wipe my lips multiple times with a makeup wipe to get it off.

The Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick can be found at Sephora or other beauty retailers and costs $24 for full size. They have over 20 different matte shades to choose from, and they even have a few shades with a shimmer finish.

I don't usually reach for or recommend higher end products unless I really, really like them. This liquid lipstick has got to be one of my favorites, ever. I would definitely recommend this to everyone!

Sunday, February 12, 2017

I've been spending the past month thinking of how to write this post, but I just couldn't figure out exactly how I wanted to write this all out. But this morning I woke up with the biggest desire to write and so here I am.

This will be slightly personal, which is something I've yet to do on my blog. I've kept most of my personal life off the internet, but I owe everyone who reads my posts an honest explanation for what happened. I won't get into all of the details, some things I'm not ready to talk about yet and I might not ever be ready to talk about, but I will tell you the basics.

I've been dealing with anxiety and depression since middle school. It usually didn't bother me much, besides the occasional "bad day". Unfortunately, at the end of November, I had a huge spike in my anxiety, worse than anything I've ever experienced. On the outside I looked fine, but on the inside I was ready to explode. I had a few bad panic attacks, and a really bad bout of depression followed shortly after. I couldn't deal with much of anything anymore, so I just stopped blogging. At that moment, I didn't care about anything at all, and I lost all of my inspiration to write.
I slept too much and then I didn't sleep at all. I didn't want to see anyone but I also felt so lonely. I couldn't eat, I lost 15 pounds and couldn't bare to look at myself in the mirror. I felt nothing and everything all at once. I spent my days sleeping and going to work, pretending to be okay the entire time.
I opened up to my boyfriend and my sisters about this, and knowing I had someone to talk to has made me feel so much better. I'm back to eating like a pig again, which I couldn't be happier about. My sleeping schedule is getting better and all around I'm starting to feel better!
I still have bad days, which are so bad. But I also have good moments and I love those. I'm still trying to figure out what exactly is "wrong" with me. I have a few ideas, but nothing certain. I do have an appointment with a psychologist in less than a week and although I'm extremely anxious about it, I'm excited to figure out what's going on with me and start getting better!

I didn't want to make my blog this personal, but I realized something important during all of this. I think it's important for other people to know that there are others that know exactly how they feel. There was nothing I wanted more during this than knowing I wasn't alone and I wasn't the only person who has ever felt this way. I needed to talk to people who had similar experiences to realize that things do get better.
I think it's important for people to have someone they can talk to or go to whenever they're feeling down or dealing with any other type of problem.
I hope to somehow incorporate some posts about mental health into my blog once I start therapy. I want to raise awareness and help others. This is just an idea, but hopefully I can make it happen.

To end this I just want to say I'm sorry. I'm sorry to my readers for not writing. I'm sorry to the fellow bloggers on social media who I stopped interacting with, I miss you guys! I'm sorry to my friends and family for not being myself, I love you!

This is my "comeback", well at least that's what I've been calling it all day (lol). I can't make any promises that I'll post regularly, but I'll try my best to post as often as I can. I can't make any promises that I'll be on social media interacting, but I'm going to try. I can't make any promises that I'll be back to "normal", but I'm going to make a promise to myself and everyone else that I will work harder than I've ever worked in my life to get better.

Thank you everyone for your understanding and thank you to everyone who has been there for me. I love every single one of you!

I'm ready to make my comeback now.

If you're ever feeling down, anxious, or you just really need someone to talk to, feel free to send me a message on twitter or instagram, I might not be able to get back to you right away, but I promise you I will answer you. You are not alone and you'll never be alone.
