The 5 Apps Every Blogger Needs

Blogging is so much more than blogging, ya feel? If you're a blogger, then you definitely know what I'm talking about. You're a writer, a content creator, photographer, editor, social media manager, and if you make money off of your blog I'm sure you're also doing finances.

It's a lot of work and sometimes blogging can seem overwhelming. But lucky for us, we live in the here and now, and we have some really cool technology in the here and now. Apps that do literally everything we could ever want, right at our fingertips! Since there's now an app for everything, you know there's plenty of apps geared towards bloggers and our wants and needs. The amount of apps there are can seem overwhelming also, (there are thousands), but that's why I made this little list.

So whether you're a newbie blogger, or you've been blogging for years, here are the 5 apps you need to be using!

You may have noticed or maybe you haven't, who knows honestly, but I'm a blonde. And no, sadly, it's not natural. (Shout out to all the babes out there with naturally blonde hair. Just know that I'm forever jealous of you!)
I've been dying it regularly for the past 9 years, but the past year or so I took the dive and decided to go platinum/white and let me tell ya, I'm obsessed with the color!

Unfortunately, going that light does loads of damage to your hair. I'm talkin that dry, dull, hair breaking off kind of damage, which makes dying your hair a pretty color kinda pointless.

Damaged hair sucks and I really don't mean to scare you, but chances are you probably have damaged hair too. Most of us have done some kind of damage to our hair, it's not exactly very hard to do so. So many things cause damaged hair, including diet and genetics.

But if you do any of the following 7 things, you are at an increased rate for damaged hair.

Playing the Victim, Being Vulnerable & Learning to Love the Chaotic, Messy & Wonderful Person I Am | 24 More Things I've Learned This Year

Back in February I published a post called Breaking Hearts, Facing Fears & Ditching Vanilla Sex | 24 Things I've Learned in 24 Years and it's been my most popular post to date. I just want to say thank you so much for reading, sharing, and showing so much love towards that post. I honestly never thought it would get anywhere near the attention it received and I'm so fucking grateful.

I've been asked on more than one occasion for a follow up to that post. Now, I'm not some philosopher with a never ending list of advice and life changing quotes, (if I was though I'd totally call myself Confucius on Cocaine), but I am constantly learning through the situations and bullshit life throws at me and I'm continuously growing as a person.

Which means, lucky for you, I've got some more wise words to share.

Who doesn't love a good highlight these days? It gives your skin a beautiful glow, and can be used to enhance features, and honestly, it can turn a look from bam to BAM, if ya know what I mean.

(A quick LOL at five years ago Ali who thought wearing highlighter was stupid because the whole point of putting foundation on was to hide my oily, shiny skin. Oh, so young, so naive.)

Nowadays, I live for a good glow. I absolutely love natural, rosy, and gold highlights, but I'm not one to shy away from bright and fun colors either. Even if it's just a little bit on my nose, (might just be my signature lewk), I don't think I ever skip highlighter when I do my makeup these days.

Nothing beats having that "skin glowing from within" look and nothing beats a good, affordable, highlighter to give that said look either.

That being said, here are the 3 best drugstore highlighters to prove that you don't need to spend a lot of dough to get that bomb glow!

Is It Worth It? | Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Palette Review & Swatches + GIVEAWAY! |

Okay so give me a few seconds to be annoying and fan girl here, but I don't think I've ever gotten a product this soon after it's release. I usually wait around to buy a product, ya know check out the reviews, find out what the general public thinks of it first, but I actually followed the Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina palette until it was released and got myself one as soon as it came out! Honestly, it's been a long time since I was this excited for the release of a new product and I'm so happy I got my hands on it right away!

I was initially drawn to the color of the packaging, I think that's where this little love affair began. Don't worry, I'd never buy a product solely for the packaging, (or would I?), the shades inside the package are just as gorgeous! I love using purples, because they really work to make my green eyes pop! Honestly, this whole palette gives me serious princess vibes!

Anastasia Beverly Hills is, in my own opinion, a flawless brand. Every product they release is amazing, they live up to the hype, and I'm always left hella impressed.

That being said, not every product is a win, and just because you have a good rep, doesn't mean the product will be good. So is this palette worth it? Does it live up to the hype?

Let's find out..

PS: if you want to learn how you could win a Norvina palette of your own, keep scrolling!

My Holy Grail Products | 5 Products I Actually Couldn't Live Without

I'm obsessed with makeup. There's nothing I love more than creating looks and experimenting with new products to see what I can create. As much as I love trying out new things, I still have my favorites.

Out of all the makeup I've tried, I have 5 staple products that I honestly can't live without. Products that go everywhere with me, products that I repurchase quite often, products I swear by.

Seriously, take a look at my Instagram and see what products I use most often, and I'm sure you'll see these five.

I'll buy these products always and forever, I'll recommend them to everyone, I literally won't shut up about them, because I love them so much.

These are my Holy Grail makeup products.

26 Things You'll Only Understand If You Have A Blog | Things Only Bloggers Understand

If you ask someone what a blogger is or what a blogger does, you'd probably get a simple answer. Something along the lines of, "they're someone with a blog" or "they just write stuff and post it online" oh and let's not forget the people who assume bloggers just get sent free stuff from companies all the time.

It can be really frustrating sometimes because blogging really isn't that simple. There are certain things that come with blogging that only bloggers understand.

I decided to make a list of some of the good and bad things that only bloggers really understand. (Don't worry, this list goes far beyond marble flatlays and coffee shop dates!)

How many of these things can you relate to?

Current Obsessions | Products I Cannot & Will Not Stop Talking About

I throw around the word "obsession" very often, but sometimes it's the only word that fits for describing something you're in love with, that you can't stop talking about, that you want the entire world to know about, etc..

I really wanted to share some of the things I’ve been loving lately because I cannot stop telling every single person I know about these products, and it only seems fitting to write a blog post about them.

These are products that aren't necessarily new, but instead products that I've been using a lot and loving a whole lot lately.

My Skincare Routine | Skincare Routine for Oily Skin + How I Stopped Breakouts |

After two long and torturous years, I have finally found a skincare routine that works for me! Cue the Hallelujah chorus!

But really, if you have problem or sensitive skin, you know the struggle. Over the course of two years, I was battling some of the worst breakouts I had ever had. I used to consider myself lucky, because all throughout middle and high school, I never had acne. Maybe a pimple here or there, but nothing to stress over. Unfortunately a couple of years after graduating, I got hit with a wave of adult acne, which left me feeling insecure and hopeless once I realized that nothing I tried worked for me!

It took me two solid years of trying different products before I found a routine that worked, and since discovering my skin type and what products work and don't work for it, and ultimately starting this routine a few months ago, I haven't looked back.

Although I know that everyone has different skin, I wanted to share my routine with ya'll because I know how frustrating it is to have trouble with your skin and I wanted to show you what worked for me.

| Breaking Hearts, Facing Fears & Ditching Vanilla Sex | 24 Very Important Things I've Learned in 24 Years |

24 years ago today I was born! Between freaking out that I'm getting old and time is going way too fast and being excited because I've always loved birthdays; my mind is literally all over the place at the moment.

Birthdays are great for celebrating, but this year I wanted to reflect a little. 24 years seems like such a long time and I've experienced so much, especially in the past couple of years.
Some good things, some bad, but through everything I've gone through, I've learned a lot.

Here are 24 of the most important things I've learned in 24 years.

| I May Have Just Found The Best Drugstore Foundation! | Maybelline SuperStay Foundation Review |

I really think a good foundation is the hardest thing to find, at least for me it is. I have sensitive, oily skin so it's hard for me to find something that doesn't break me out and actually lasts all day. I'm constantly on the search for new foundations, and that's when I found the Maybelline SuperStay foundation.

Oddly enough, I don't remember seeing any reviews, or ads for that matter, on this new foundation. I decided to buy it anyway since I'm a huge fan of the Maybelline Fit Me foundation, I figured it might actually work. Plus, Maybelline has really been stepping their game up lately.

I was for sure shocked with this foundation and I'll tell ya why in a second. First, let me tell you a little about it.

| Is That $130 Facial Cleansing Brush Worth it? | An Honest Review of the Clarisonic Mia |

This year for Christmas my mom totally surprised me and bought me the Clarisonic Mia! I was so happy and excited to try it out. I actually wanted a Clarisonic Mia for a long time, but due to the high price tag, I could never actually bring myself to buy it. I'm all for taking good care of my skin but I wasn't even really sure if it would be worth it. Would it really make cleaning my face easier? Would this $130 tool really help clear my skin and make it smooth? Glowing? Healthier?

Those were the questions I was asking myself before my mom bought it for me and I had the chance to actually try it out, and I'm sure if you're reading this, you might have the same questions, so after using the Clarisonic Mia for about two months, I'm here to give you the answers.

NEW SERIES! | The Best Of Drugstore Makeup | Wet n Wild |

If you've been a reader of my blog for a while, then you'll know how much I love drugstore makeup. There isn't much better in the world than finding an affordable product that works so well, sometimes even better than their higher end counterparts. I'm talking about those drugstore products that make you stop and think "no way could this be that cheap!" Not everything is great at the drugstore, you can't always sacrifice quality for a good deal. But that's where my posts come in..

Since I've found so many awesome products at the drugstore, that are some of my all-time favorites and ultimate go-to's, I decided to create a little series on my blog featuring all of the best drugstore products, broken up by brand. Each month, I'm going to feature one drugstore brand and all of my favorite products from that brand. These are products that I use myself, that I love, and that I swear by.

Finding an amazing product at the drugstore can be challenging sometimes, and if you're only buying duds, you're really not saving yourself any money. Hopefully through these posts, you'll be able to find the most affordable, high quality products at the drugstore!

| How To Shop at the Thrift Store Like a Pro | Tips for Getting the Best Deals! |

I did a little poll on Twitter not too long ago and most of you said you'd like to see a post sharing some of my tips for shopping at the thrift store, so here it is!

Honestly, I'm a huge fan of thrift store shopping because I love a good deal. I've found so many awesome things at the thrift store, most recently a brand new faux fur vest, one that usually goes for $40+, for less than $10!

Shopping at the thrift shop can seem really overwhelming though, I mean you're literally searching through thousands of second-hand items, of course it's going to be hard to find what's worth it and what's not. Hopefully, with a few of my tips, you'll be able to find exactly what you're looking for!
