| What I'm Looking Forward to in 2018 |


It's a new year ya'll! I know some people are really serious about a new year bringing a new them, but I'm more of the "time is just an illusion" type of person. Sorry, I've never been one to think that a specific date can dramatically change things. That's not to say I don't believe in the power of motivation, and if a specific day motivates a person to better their life, then fuck it- let's all roll with it. 

Anyway, I was having trouble coming up with post ideas for January, since I never do resolutions for myself. I find them to be discouraging if anything, and with my all-or-nothing mentality, I end up beating myself up over not accomplishing them. I also don't plan to reflect on the past year until my birthday, in February, so I decided to do something a little different. I decided to write a post about all of the things I'm excited for in 2018. Things that I know will, without a doubt, happen and things I'm speaking into existence. 

So here it is, everything I'm looking forward to in 2018!




Bigger & better things for my blog

My blog is over a year old and it's come a pretty long way. It's not super huge and I don't have thousands of followers, but I've finally found my own voice within a community of hundreds of other people, and that alone makes me feel accomplished. 

This year I really want to focus a lot more time on my blog. I want to write higher quality posts, take better photos, up my editing game, and finally figure out a good planning schedule and stick to it. 

I want to open myself up for more opportunities. I want to put myself out there more. I want to approach brands myself, not just wait for them to come to me. I want to create a bigger circle of fellow bloggers to work alongside with, to support. 

I want to take my blog to the next level this year and with hard work and plenty of dedication, I can certainly see that happening. 

My *secret* project

I've been calling something I'm working on "My Secret Project" for some time now and I think now is a good time to tell you all what it is! 

I'm writing a book! I'm not going to talk about what it's about or give any other details, I tend to keep everything to myself when I'm working on something important to me, but I'll be sure to share a few things about it every once in a while.

Writing a book isn't easy at all, and it's an extremely long process. That's why I want to really focus on getting it done this year. I've been playing around with it for so long, I just know 2018 will be the year I finish it! 

Continuing my fitness journey 

I recently found a kick-ass workout routine that's easy enough for me to stick to but also does what I need it to do. I mean I'll be honest and tell ya'll that I haven't done much working out the past few weeks, with the holidays and all, but I'm ready to get back into it! 

I also found lots of healthier foods that I love, which is crazy for me because I'm literally addicted to junk food. 

2018 is going to be the year I get my body looking the way I want it to, but more importantly, 2018 will be the year I start getting healthy and really start taking care of my body.

Making healthier life choices

Alongside my little fitness journey, I want to take better care of my body as a whole. I want to take better care of my skin. I want to stop avoiding going to the doctor at all costs. I want to stop biting my nails.

But this goes for mental health just as much as physical. I want 2018 to be the year that I allow myself to relax. That I allow myself to have bad days, without breaking down and having bad weeks. I want to challenge myself in all aspects of life, whatever silly things give me anxiety, I want to face them head on. I want to start therapy, even if I don't think I need it at the moment, I might benefit from some safer coping mechanisms. 

2018 will be my year of happy.

  1. I have a lot of the same goals for this year! I definitely want to focus more on my blog and be more consistent with my posting schedule! I also want to make healthier choices this year and eat more plant based meals even if I don't go fully vegan! Hope your start to 2018 have been wonderful so far!

  2. I am with you when it comes to goals- I want to have them don't get me wrong but I don't like doing it for the sake of it if it's not coming from my heart. Then you feel worse than before if you can't do it. I too hope 2018 is a better year in so many ways, like you both health and blog wise. Lots of great things to work towards.   3. I love this post! I agree with you about not making resolutions. In my opinion from experience, it’s hard to follow through with them. I just rather say I’m going to work on me being better!
