Blogging Babes Featured Blogger | An Interview with Sydney Rose

January's first Blogging Babes Featured Blogger and the first ever, is Sydney Rose from herunusualjourney.com! Sydney is a blogger who inspires those around her everyday with her ability to cope with the tough shit in life, and keep a smile on her face and the faces of those around her. She's funny, beautiful, and supportive, and someone I'm happy to call a friend.

1. What made you decide to start blogging?

I decided to start blogging about a year and a half ago. I was super sick and bed ridden. I had nothing to do and I couldn't do much, but I wanted to have something that could take my mind off of the situation I was in. So I decided to start blogging, but never expected it to get where it has so far.

2. What is your blog about?

My blog is about my journey- my journey in life with a chronic illness at a young age. I want to make people aware of how chronically ill people feel and what they go through. Most college kids don't have to deal with what I deal with so I thought, why not share what it's like. I'm in love with beauty products so I do throw a little bit of that in too sometimes.

3. You're a chronic illness warrior and a total inspiration. How does having a chronic illness effect your blog?

Awwww stop, you're the sweetest ever! Yes it really does. I don't have the energy and concentration that most bloggers do so it's hard to take my blog to the best it can be. I do try to push myself but I really need to push myself even more to keep up and be consistent with it. It's hard to be consistent because I never know how I am going to feel. In fact, I've been putting off Pinterest because it is so time consuming and I don't have the energy or concentration, but maybe if I started to split it up, I could make it work.

4. What's your favorite social media platform?

My favorite social media platform right now is Twitter. I've been working on building that up first and then taking each platform on separately instead of all at once! I need to work on my Pinterest though at the same time and I've been putting that off because it's so much work.

5. What's your favorite food?

My favorite food is ice cream. I literally could eat that for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

6. Who's your favorite band/artist?

Haha! So you would never guess this by looking at me but I am a major rap lover. I'd have to say I am super in to Travis Scott, especially since I have concert tickets to see him this spring!

7. What's your all time favorite TV show?

This one is so hard for me. I have a bunch of shows I love but Gossip Girl or Grey's [Anatomy]. I really can't choose!

8. What is one thing in the world you couldn't live without?

I couldn't live without my family. I am super close to them because of everything I go through and they are a big part of my support system.

9. If you could be anything in the world, what would you be and why?

I'd be a successful blogger. I'd love to do that as my job because it is so much fun and you should do something you love.

10. What's one piece of blogging advice you'd give to someone who has just begun their blogging journey?

Don't rush things. Everything takes time. You have to build up your content and your following, it just doesn't happen instantly.
